I woke up in the morning

I woke up in the morning
and staggered down the stairs
eyes closed and mouth was yawning
I forgot the brand new chairs.

My toe got caught up in the leg
and soon I was a tumbling
George the cat looked really bored
shot through the flap a grumbling.

I skidded right along the floor
moving faster than a rocket
then crashing up against the door
my teeth fell out my pocket.

I lay there gasping in a heap
clutching my aching head
If this was the way the day was going
I may as well go back to bed.
