Topic speaks for itself.

What are some foods you have heard about before or that seem common enough, but have never tried?

These goes for fruits and veggies too. I introduced my best friend to most veggies and fruits in the last year that she otherwise had never tired before. And simple stuff like: asparagus, spinach, snow peas.

I have never tried caviar or cheese fondue.

I love cheese, but I am for some reason afraid of melted cheese in a paste like form. If you shred fresh cheese and melt it, I can eat it, but if you start mixing milk and butter and stuff in it to make it more paste like, it makes me shudder.

I've never eaten brussel sprouts, turnips or parsnips.

I make cheese fondue quite a bit and it's nothing to be scared of. In fact, it's not much different than what you would do if you were making homemade mac 'n' cheese.

Strange. Boobagins asked about things that seem common....I didn't realize those things were 'common'.

I've also never tried caviar, squid, snails, tilapia ( ), pig's feet, pickled eggs, head cheese, olive loaf, black pudding ... this list could go on forever.

I dislike mac n' cheese because of the cheese consistency...so yeah, i'm pretty sure, I wouldn't like it.

I don't know...I call it processed cheese that I dislike and I'm sure that's not the correct term, but stuff like:

Powder cheese
Velveeta cheese
Kraft Singles
Cheese in a can
Cream Cheese

Basically cheese that's been mixed or have ingredients other than cheese in it...yeah, I dislike them immensely.

Hmmm...yeah. The fondue I make is kind of like cheese gravy. You make a roux and then add milk...bring it to a boil and then add shredded cheese and stir it till it's creamy. It's yummy...but it sounds like you may not like it.

Powdered cheese is something that would come with hamburger helper or mac 'n' cheese...you add butter and milk and it becomes a cheese sauce.

Cheese in a can is for putting on crackers, although sometimes it's fun to just spray it in your mouth like whipped cream. It's like aerosol cheese whiz.
