So I'm new to this site and I just figured I'd talk about the only thing thats running through my mind right now and thats the fact that I have to work on Christmas. I'm in the Coast Guard and I guess joining the military I should have assumed that a few of the holidays would be spent at work but it sucks. Bad. Sitting here waiting for something to happen and at that point being the person to help those who are in need. I take pride in the fact that when people are in trouble on the water I am the voice of calm and assurance to let them know everything will be ok but in all reality its a grim fact that if someone goes into the drink during these winter months its not going to be a good thing. I live in the most northern part of michigan in the middle of nowhere surrounded by the great lakes in which I defend. It's a nice place and all but it just wont ever stop snowing and its cold as all hell here. I wish everyone a safe and happy holiday and New Year but remember while your sitting at home with your family enjoying these days us military folks only wish to have ......were always here, always listening, and if you are ever in trouble we will be there.
